We had a wonderful experience bringing in the Christmas celebrations with the children at Asha Grih. The children were very warm and welcoming and were extremely happy to meet all the volunteers. They had been nurtured with utmost care and love so that they feel secure and at home. We started with an introduction so the new volunteers could get to know the kids personally and spoke to them about health and hygiene to educate them and spread awareness by distributing toothpaste, combs and toothbrushes. The children were an enthusiastic bunch who were friendly and willing to learn. They put their guards down and sang for us, followed by some dance performances. We also did a play and a birdie dance with them which was a big hit. Overall it was a great learning experience for us and the children .We hope to meet them more frequently and organize different activities to educate and empower them in the little ways that we can help.
